چکیده
Aboveground biomass, volume, and basal area are among the most important structural attributes in forestry. Direct measurements cost-intensive time-consuming, especially for old-growth forests exhibiting a complex structure over rugged topography. We defined methodology to optimize plot size (total) sampling area, allowing with tolerable error be estimated. The was assessed by analyzing semivariogram of CHM model derived via UAV laser scanning, while based on calculation absolute relative as function allometric relationships. relationships allowed from trees’ height derived. validation positioning number trees total station GNSS surveys. Since high occlude signal transmission, strategy facilitate fix solution using GLONASS constellation alone (showing highest visibility during survey), then GPS increase position accuracy (up PDOP~5−10). tree heights estimated scanning were strongly correlated (r2 = 0.98, RMSE 2.80 m) those measured situ. Assuming maximum estimation attribute (20% within this work), proposed portion forest surface (≤60%) sampled quantified obtain low average above mentioned (≤13%).

UAV-Borne Profiling Radar for Forest Research
Microwave Radar is an attractive solution for forest mapping and inventories because microwave signals penetrates into the forest canopy and the backscattering signal can provide information regarding the whole forest structure. Satellite-borne and airborne imaging radars have been used in forest resources mapping for many decades. However, their accuracy with respect to the main forest invento...

15 صفحه اولSimulating Sampling Efficiency in Airborne Laser Scanning Based Forest Inventory
A simple simulator was developed to test whether airborne laser scanning can be used as a strip sampling tool for forest inventory purposes. The simulator is based on the existing two stages, grid based laser inventory procedure. A population of trees was created using an existing forest stand structure generator. Each tree was represented by means of its 3D-crown model derived from airborne la...

متن کاملUAV-Borne LiDAR with MEMS Mirror Based Scanning Capability
Firstly, we demonstrated a wirelessly controlled MEMS scan module with imaging and laser tracking capability which can be mounted and flown on a small UAV quadcopter. The MEMS scan module was reduced down to a small volume of <90mm x 60mm x 40mm, weighing less than 40g and consuming less than 750mW of power using a ~5mW laser. This MEMS scan module was controlled by a smartphone via Bluetooth w...
